Hey y'all!! My name is Ginger Worthington and I am happy to be working with you and your child this year. I have been teaching for 22 years and love what I do. Never have I wanted to do anything but teach...well except be a mama. And, I am that to three, now grown, children. William Worthington, 27, graduated from Mississippi State University and now works in Abbeville, Louisianna. Brittany Linkous, 27, graduated from Ole Miss and now works in Tallahassee, Florida. Jake Linkous, 25, who is attending Logan University in Chesterfield, MO and will be graduating next year as a chiropractor. I have been married to my husband, John Worthington for 20 years. I graduated from Delta State University with my BSE and Med. I started my teaching career at Hays Cooper Center in 1994 where I completed my student teaching and taught Social Studies to 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. The following year I moved to Southaven, MS and taught 4th grade at Shadow Oaks Elementary. I was only there for a year because I returned to Cleveland to marry my husband. When I returned to the delta, I taught 5th grade reading at West Bolivar Middle School for 1 year, and the next year I landed a job at Parks Elementary where I stayed for twelve years. While at Parks I taught in grades 3 - 6 in many different subject areas. I left Parks for a job at Mississippi State Universtiy where I provided professional development for teachers and students across the state of Mississippi in the area of writing. While I loved this job very much, I missed having my own classroom of students and began looking to return to the classroom. I was lucky enough to be able to accept a position at Bell Academy, and I have now been here for five years. After graduating from DSU I attended Delta Area Writing Project where I learned how to be a writer and how to be a writing teacher. I am also a National Board Certified Teacher, and have been for 14 years. I promise to work hard with and for you and your children this year!!
