I am honored and excited to be a member of the Cleveland Central Middle School community and serve in the role as principal. My beliefs about being an effective school have been developed by my experience as a classroom teacher and by serving in school leadership roles. I believe that all children can learn when they are provided the appropriate educational environment. The school environment must be safe, caring, and welcoming for students, families, and staff.
My vision for a diverse learning community includes an environment that develops the whole child with strong emphasis on academics, the arts and physical activity. The content and concepts taught should connect to real world situations, develop critical and creative skills, inspire innovative thinking, and provide differentiated instructions to meet the needs of all students. We can achieve high levels of success when teachers collaborate to align the curriculum, incorporate instructional practices, assess student progress and encourage students to set S.M.A.R.T. goals.
I believe that one of the most important aspects of my work as Principal of CCMS is building meaningful relationships with students, families and staff as well as with the greater community. I will be working with our PTSO to coordinate monthly opportunities for us to come together as a community around topics of importance which will provide opportunities for me to listen and learn from you.
I believe open communication is very important in creating and maintaining a positive school environment. I will always encourage you to reach out to your child’s teacher, to a member of the office staff, or to me with any questions or concerns you may have.
