Mrs. Melanie Bray

Melanie Bray was born and raised in Bartlett, TN.  She moved to Cleveland twenty-eight years ago and has called it her home ever since.  Mrs. Bray is married to Marty Bray, who works at Baxter Healthcare.   They have two grown children.  Their daughter, Meagan, is a nurse at Texas Women's.  She is currently in her final year of nurse practioner school, and she is engaged to be married.  Their son, Trace, is a graduate of Delta State University.  He and their daughter-in-law, Caitlyn, live in Southaven, MS.  He works for Corelle in Holly Springs, MS.  Trace and Caitlyn had a precious baby girl in May of 2021.

Marty and Melanie are both DSU graduates.  Melanie has her BSE and M.Ed from Delta State.  She has also earned National Board Certification in Elementary Education in 2007.  In 2017, she renewed her National Board Certification.  

Melanie is a member of the Mississippi Association of Educators and a life member of Junior Auxiliary of Cleveland.  She is also an active member in her church, Our Lady of Victories.

Mrs. Bray is in her twenty-ninth year of teaching.  She has taught first grade for three years, third grade for thirteen years, and this is her thirteenth year teaching fifth grade at Hayes Cooper.  She loves teaching reading and English to her fifth graders.  She is proud of Hayes Cooper Center and the education we are giving the wonderful children who attend HCC.
