Chromebook Care

  • Carrying Chromebook
    • Chromebook lids should always be closed and secured when moving. Do not carry your device while the screen is open.
    • Make sure nothing is between the screen and the keyboard when closing your device. Any object will damage the screen.
    • Unplug the Chromebook when it isn't charging.
    • Do not lift from the screen when moving. Close lid and then move.
    • Do not have any food or drinks near the Chromebook.
  • Screen Care
    • Do not put excessive pressure on the screen. The screen is very sensitive and can be damaged.
    • Do not put anything on top of the device.
    • Do not poke at the screen with anything that can damage the screen. Pencils, markers, etc.
    • Screens can be cleaned with a soft lint-free cloth. Do not use window cleaners, household cleaners, sprays, solvents, ammonia, or abrasives to clean the Chromebook. DO NOT SPRAY ANYTHING DIRECTLY ON THE CHROMEBOOK. If you use a disinfectant wipe, MAKE SURE IT IS ONLY DAMP AND NOT WET TO THE TOUCH. Dry with the soft lint-free cloth.
    • Do not touch the screen. Touching can cause blurs and even cracking.
  • A/C Power Adapter
    • Do not yank the cable from the port on the Chromebook. Remove the adapter in a smooth motion. Over time the abuse will cause the device to not charge properly.
  • Protective Cases/Sleeves
    • Please leave the device in the case/sleeve provided to you by the district. These cases/sleeves help keep the device safe from damage.
  • Charging your Chromebook
    • Will hold a charge for between 6-8 hours.
    • If you take home your device, make sure to charge it up at night. You do not need to leave it charging constantly.
