Mr. Rufus Hill

I am a native of Cleveland, MS and proud to be able to come back to serve the community that has given me so much! I have taught and instructional coached 1st through 12th grade, in three Delta area school districts. I began my career in the North Bolivar School District teaching Transition to Algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Business Computation and Personal Finance at Broad Street High School for two years. Transitioning to elementary, I joined Tunica Elementary School as the 5th Grade Math Teacher. Being blessed with the opportunity to return to the district that provided my strong academic foundation, I joined the D. M. Smith Middle School staff serving as the 6th, 7th, PreAlgebra, 8th and Algebra I teacher for the last three years. With the consolidation, I was afforded the opportunity to join the staff at the newly established Cleveland Central High School as the Instructional Math Coach for two years while serving part-time at Pearman Elementary.

My academic journey began here in the Cleveland School District where I attended Hayes Cooper Center, Eastwood Junior High School, and proudly graduated from East Side High School in May 2004. I attended Alabama A&M University in Normal, AL where I graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Electrical Engineering in December 2009. For both post-secondary degrees, I attended Delta State University where I obtained a Masters of Arts in Teaching in December 2012 and an Educational Specialist in Leadership in December 2016.

I am the son of the late Rufus Hill Jr. and Dianne Forrest Hill. I have one sister, Alexis Hill; two nephews, Kaleb and Kalen; and one niece Kaleigh Rose. I enjoy spending time with family and friends and traveling when time permits.

"Achievement In Every Field of Human Endeavor" is my philosophy not only in education but for life in general. Each child that enters my building will be provided with an individualized experience that focuses on their personal growth as a student and person.  I look forward to working with each and every one of you throughout the school year.
