Hello, my name is Altovise M. Henry, Ed. S. I have been an educator for 19 years.  I have worked in numerous school districts throughout the Delta and find that all children simply need love and basic understanding.  I am an only child for my mother, and I am a new mommy to a wonderful little girl.  I attended and graduated from Cleveland High School. After graduation, I attended one of the greatest HBCU’s in the SWAC, Mississippi Valley State University, and received my bachelors and masters degrees.  While there, I was a member of the Mean Green Marching Machine performing as a Satin Doll, and an honor student while majoring in History with a minor in English.   

I am also a graduate of Delta State University. There, I worked diligently to receive a specialist degree in administration and supervision and successfully completed the program.  Working with children, has impacted my life a great deal, and I look forward to furthering my career and continuing to be a role-model to today’s youth.

I am an avid reader and love to indulge in online retail as well as travel and spend time with my family.  I aspire to instill a love of reading in my students daily and want to eventually create a consulting firm that focuses solely on reading and continue to bridge the gap in literacy with today’s young people.
