     Changes for second 9-weeks

     

    **Teachers will no longer read tests aloud. We will give needed help when asked by students.

     

    **Students will begin taking Accelerated Reader tests. They have learned how to do this and know what is expected of them. They must meet their Goal points each 9-weeks AND maintain an 85% or higher comprehension rate. Encourage your child to read at home, weekends, and take AR tests at school. AR tests may not be taken at home.

     

    **Mad Minute math tests will begin soon. Right now, PLEASE buy or make your child a set of ADDITION and SUBTRACTION FLASH CARDS (sums to 10) for home practice. Addition facts will be tested first. These are graded tests. More about this will be sent home.

     

    ** Fluency reading will also begin. Students will read passages and eventually be timed for words per minute.
