Hello everyone and welcome to 6th grade ELA.  I was born in Mississippi, but consider myself blessed because I have lived in six different states and I can say without a doubt I love the South and our state.  I graduated from high school in Foley, Alabama in 1988.  I graduated from Delta State in 1996 and 1998.   I have been employed with the Cleveland School District for 22 years.  I have taught English/Language Arts for 17 of those years.  I have taught grades 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th prior to going back to teaching 6th grade this year. This is my 5th year at Bell Academy and I absolutely love this little school and all it encompasses.  This will be my fourth year teaching 6th grade ELA/Reading. I am married to Ric and we have 8 furry little babies.  I believe that in a classroom children must have fun while they are learning.  I also believe that learning must have purpose in order to be effective.  I am a big proponent of reading and writing and hope to pass that love on to your children.  For fun I like to read and have coffee with my friends.  If you need me please do not hesitate to call the school or email me.  Here's to a great, exciting, and educational fun-filled year!

Hello Parents!

Welcome to 6th grade! I am so excited for our new school year. I have so many fun and exciting things planned. This will be my fourth year teaching sixth grade math, science, and health, and I am so excited to get started!

I was born and raised in the Delta, and unlike others, I love it! I moved to Cleveland 8 1/2 years ago while attending Delta State University, where I obtained my bachelors, masters in Elementary Education and a specialist in Elementary Education. I am currently working towards a specialist in Administration and Leadership at Delta State. I have been married for 17 years to my husband, Richard. We have two daughters, Lauren and Mary Kate. Oh, we also have three dogs and two kittens, we rescued!!

It is my desire to share my love of learning with your child in the hopes of them becoming life-long learners. I am passionate about encouraging each one of my students that they CAN and WILL learn! I also take the job of preparing them for the next level very seriously. Sixth grade is such a crucial time to learn not only academic skills but good study skills, appropriate social interactions, and healthy conflict resolution. I expect a lot out of my students, and they ALWAYS exceed my expectations!!

Please do not hesitate to contact me with any concerns or questions!

Here's to a great year!
