Cannon is a graduate of Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she majored in Mass Media Communications and minored in English. One of her greatest joys of teaching is watching students excel beyond their wildest dreams. “I get a kick out of setting expectations with my students, and then, seeing the joy and the look on their faces when they have not only met their goal, but they have far exceeded their expectations.”  Cannon believes “Nothing is impossible to those who believe, and with that belief, hard work and dedication to the task must be added.”

Cannon is happily married to Dr. Sylvester Cannon, Jr. of Drew, MS, and together, they have two sons: Sylvester Josiah (16) and Ashton (10). She enjoys spending time with her family, learning, teaching, reading, researching, writing, traveling, dancing, bowling, playing basketball and tennis, and working with young people.  She has traveled far and wide--47 states and three continents and dreams of seeing more of the world.
