Mr. Rufus D. Hill

I am a native of Cleveland, MS. This is my seventh year in education having taught from 5th to 12th grade in three districts. I began my career in the North Bolivar School District teaching Transition to Algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Business Computation and Personal Finance at Broad Street High School for two years. Transitioning to elemnetary, I then joined Tunica Elementary School as the 5th Grade Math Teacher. Being blessed with the opportunity to return to the district that provided my strong academic foundation, I joined the D. M. Smith Middle School staff serving as the 6th, 7th, PreAlgebra, 8th and Algebra I teacher for the last three years. With the consolidation, I was afforded the opportunity to joing the staff at the newly established Cleveland Central High School as the Instructional Math Coach.

My academic journey began here in the Cleveland School District. I attended Hayes Cooper Center, Eastwood Junior High School, and proudly graduated from East Side High School in 2004. I attended Alabama A&M University in Normal, AL where I graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Electrical Engineering in December of 2009. For both of my post-secondary degrees I attended Delta State University where I obtained a Masters of Arts in Teaching in December of 2012 and an Educational Specialist in Leadership in December of 2016.

"Achievement In Every Field of Human Endeavor" is my philosophy not only in education but for life in general. Each child that enters my classroom will be provided with an individualized experience that focuses on their personal growth as a student and person.  I look forward to working with each and every one of you throughout the school year.
